This is a lovely set of Japanese Satsuma ware, The marking I have no listing for, but it's likely a Taisho period (1912-1926) set. Sets like this were made in large numbers, so values for are quite more modest than one would think. Comparable sets often sell at auction for about $150.00- $300.00.

Marking is not a appropriate term. They are Chinese characters in Japanese for 九谷. The Romanji would be kutani. Funny I saw an eBay listing with pieces almost identical to yours. With even one of the photos provided in the listing matching exactly to yours. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Kutani-China-Tea-Set-Geisha-Lithophane-Demitasse-Stunning-/192062664527

However in the listing the wares they have or you have if it is indeed the same person show that the bottoms do not have the same characters you put up on here (九谷).

Also id like to point out these are authentic Kutani ware character seals. Your seal doesn't really match up with the stylings of older Kutani ware. So 1950s seems like the right time line.
