Re: Antique Asian figurine
Is the piece marked with the letters GA? Most oriental pieces are marked in the native language.
Re: Antique Asian figurine
Dear Robin,
The piece is marked GA. Do you have please any idea to what does it refers and what is the estimated value ot this item?
Thanks and best regards,
YG.
Re: Antique Asian figurine
GA could be an artist signature. As to value of the piece it would depend on the artist and uniqueness of the piece
Re: Antique Asian figurine
Found the same figurine on www.artifactcollectors.com. They are made on resin and aren't worth much. When going to this site, type in Chinese figurines

Re: Antique Asian figurine
I would hazard a guess this gentleman is Confucius, famous sage and teacher in early China who founded the School of Scholars (note scroll in hand). If he were any of the other wise men or "immortals" he would more likely be carrying a ruyi (sceptre) than scroll. GA can also mean "old variant" in pinyin/Chinese traditional language, which may refer to the resin used - if that's what it is - instead of, say bronze, as in some original famous statue it is possibly replicates.
