Description

Found this at a yard sale.  The owner said it was already old when her late husband used it for photography back in the 1950's.

Very heavy (maybe 15 pounds), very sturdy, wood looks like oak.  The metal fittings might be brass but are very dark colored.  Leg extensions have metal tips.  Completely adjustable though the wing nut on one of the extension legs is frozen.  The chains are also adjustable.

MARKS

Marked "Tripod Type A" inside the instrument base socket.

Marked A49170 on the top set of wing nut bolts.

Marked B-152060 on one of the mid-leg braces.

MEASUREMENTS

Overall length is 31 inches.  Extension legs will add about 25 inches.

Most of these date from the second quarter of the 20th century. We'd retail one of these cleaned up for about $150.00
