Antique Gold Plated Royal China

By Blane, 18 December, 2012
Description

I have antique dishes that may have formerly belonged to the Royal Family of Norway.  They are at least 100 years old if not older.  My Great Grandfather was their cook for many years.  He decided to move to the united states.  The dishes were given to him as a gift.  He and my grandfather have long since passed away.  The dishes were given to my mother who also passed away.  She many times tried to have the dishes appraised with little success.  Now it is my turn to try!  There is no existing paperwork to prove anything that I have said to be true. The plates are are gold plated.  The larger pieces have designs etched in the gold plate.  The gold design drifts out toward a painting of flowers in the center.  The collection consists of:  8 dinner plates, 1 large serving boul, 6 small bouls, 7 coffee cups, 8 large saucers, 8 small tea cups, 8 small saucers.  (46 pieces total ) The plates have " 22 karat gold stamped on the back"  Some of the pieces also have on the back, " Royal China" along with the 22 karat gold on the back.  The actual lettering on the back is written with gold the way it looks at least.  The serving boul also has a part number written on it. ( no. P 286)

Any help I can get would be great!
