Re: Genie Bottle

I have one also that I picked up from a garage sale a few years back. No one can tell me any thing about it and I have searched the internet. Yours is the first I have seen. Mine is not the dark cobalt blue. Mine is a lighter blue.

Re: Genie Bottle

Probably once held an Avon type bubble bath/bath oil when new, a lot of these date from the 1960's through 1970's. Without a label tracing a maker is difficult.

Re: Genie Bottle

These are 26 inches tall so I don't think they were from avon. I did check it out though. Avon never made such a large item for bubble bath, oils, etc. Good idea though. I will keep researchung until I figure it out.

Re: Genie Bottle

When i was little back in the late 60's grandma used to say "Stay away from my wine bottles"!!! They used to have cork on the topper and over the years it rotted off. Hope this helps.

Re: Genie Bottle

I just found two more on the internet!! After 5 years of searching I stumbled on yours and two others in 24 hours. If you type into Google "mid century vimax creations" you will see the bottles I found. They are identical to ours with the exception of color. I found an amber colored bottle and a purple bottle. The amber bottle is currently on etsy listed at $145 and the purple is listed on ebay for $149. Apparently vimax is an italian company that made all sorts of bottles . Our bottles I believe we're made in the 50s. I also have the topper for mine but the corking is also gone.

Re: Genie Bottle

Nice find, Vimax Creations appears to be an importer, outsourcing items from more than one country. They also sold low cost items like figurines clearly marked "Japan"...I doubt anyone though would actually pay that much for one of their bottles if they knew the origin of them.

Re: Genie Bottle

I can't believe it took five years for me to finally get information on my bottle. The bottle is pretty cool and I love it. I don't see the bottle listed on ebay selling for what they are listed as either. It is a unique looking bottle but even I would not pay that much. I paid 10 bucks for mine at a garage sale 5 years ago . I am planning on keeping mine. If it were worth a few thousand I might rethink that but until then mine is a keeper...lol

Re: Genie Bottle

I always tell customers to collect what they like, if it gives then pleasure to look at it, who cares if it's valuable or not?

Re: Genie Bottle

itallian designer bottle from the 60-70s   that generally sells for 30-50$ on the secondary market.  i see they may bring  around 150$ each brand new from the manufacturer in other colors.  if the m amber one ifs truely worth 150$ the cobalt blue one should be worth more money 250-300$ but there is to little hard evidence that they have sold for that or not.

Re: Genie Bottle

people are selling these on esty as vimax genie bottles from the 50s but i believe they are from the 60s. they are for sale for almost 150$ in amber but i believe they have a smaller true value. the cobalt blue should be worth more if these are really worth 150 in the amber color then they should be worth more  in the cobalt blue color.   i cant find evidence the=t they sold for the 150$ price range on ebay or anywhere else. but they may have that value.  if you can contact the esty lister and tell them you have a cobalt blue one they may make you an offer for it. it should be worth about double or tripple what they offer you for it. good luck.
