Description

Large wooden coffer. Unfortunately I do not know the age of this article and cannot find any maker's stamp or mark and do not know when this was aquired by my relative. 

I believe this is solid oak but cannot be sure. Apologies I cannot provide any further details and hoping someone can shed some light on the coffer.

Most of these I see are Victorian reproductions of early English Gothic Chests. Even though they tend to be reproductions many of them were made during the mid 1800's which makes them antiques in their own right. You'll probably need to have this one physically examined to determine what you are dealing with.
