Antique Windmill Oil Painting

By Surban, 20 November, 2017
Description

Hello!

Looking for any information on this windmill oil painting. I purchased it for $20. It is unsigned but appears quite old. The size is about 24” long by 8” tall. I just love the look of the painting and purchased for this reason. But I am curious if anyone had any info about the general age of the oil painting, artist and appraisal?

Thank you!

Shawna

Re: Antique Windmill Oil Painting

Oil paintings really require a physical appraisal by a specialist to determine vintage and origin and value , they really are not suitable candidates for any sort of online appraisal format.

Re: Antique Windmill Oil Painting

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that physical inspection is needed for formal appraisal.  I was just looking for any type of feed back regarding the painting. I am not looking to resell as I purchased for my husband as a gift.  I was just inquiring regarding the potential age of the painting...turn of the century? possibly the style of painting? just really anything of interest.

Thanks so much!

Re: Antique Windmill Oil Painting

i does not look like it is to valuable  its often hard to find the artist . i dont see the really deep strokes in the oil . it is still a nice pleasing painting. water boat windmills. i would be ring it to an art appraiser. these are really tough to do on the internet. sometimes you get lucky and its a really valuable one.
