Wusthof Dreizack Solingen vintage pocket knife interchangeable tool kit

By Shellyb, 19 September, 2014
Description

What I can tell from the product is that it is an interchangeable stainless steel pocket knife tool kit. The knife acts as a handle for the tools. The tools include a screwdriver, file/chisel, hammer, awl, an additional knife blade, a pliers and a hand drill. It is in a leather case with the Wusthof logo inside. The Wusthof logo (looks like pitchfork) logo is also on the box. The back of the box has the number  5177 on it. The tools are marked with the Wusthof logo and say, "Dreizack Solingen" on them.  Everything is contained within a leather, zipped case. The case looks brand new, but a couple of the tools have signs of use. The box is fully intact, but has a couple spots of water damage. I saw something somewhat similar on ebay and they referred to it being from the 1950's-1960's, but don't know if that information applies to this item. Just picked up at a garage sale today for $3.00 for a stocking stuffer for my husband, and upon looking over, could tell it was well-made and looked like it could be worth something. Thank you for your help!

Re: Wusthof Dreizack Solingen vintage pocket knife...

Dear Mrs. Shelly,

Your wonderful Wusthof Solingen multi tool set is very similar to other Solingen multi tool sets, but without zipper. They are called in some web page as Solingen WWII Bonsa / Bonanza German military tool kit, in leather pouch.

The main difference between bot sets would be the presence of the zipper and the pliers, in your tool kit.

Yours is in a marvellous condition. The tools seem to be free of any corrosion and as brand new, the leather couch is in top condition and it also includes the original box... A dream collector set!!

If by any chance you´d think of selling it, I´d be more than happy to be able to make an offer for it.

Thank you for your time and enjoy the multi tool set!!!

With best regards,

Iñigo Aranguren

Indigo Aranguren,

Feel free to make an offer. I’ll be honest, I would need to do some looking to relocate the set within my home. I posted this quite some time ago. But, I thank you for your information on the item and your interest and would be happy to consider an offer. Thank you.

Re: Wusthof Dreizack Solingen vintage pocket knife...

Dear Shellyb,

Thank you very much for your quick answer and for the opportunity you give me.

As I mentioned, I already have the other Wusthof Solingen multitool kit, without the pliers and without the zipper. All the tools are in good condition and I am thinking of reconditioning the leather, as it is somewhat worn out.  Together with your set I would have the two different models...

Based on the great condition of your set, I think that 110 US$ would be a fair price.

Hoping that my offer is acceptable to you.

With best regards,

Iñigo Aranguren

Re: Wusthof Dreizack Solingen vintage pocket knife...

Hello Inigo,

I have located the tool set, and it is as posted regarding condition and completenesst. We were able to obtain an appraisal locally at $125-$150. Could we meet in the middle of your offer and the high end appraisal and arrive at an agreement of $125? We would also need to work out payment details (Do you have a PayPal account?) and shipping details.Thank you! You can email me at [email protected] to work out remaining details if you wish.
