The "SSP" mark was used by Salem Silver Plate, located in Chicago. A lot of their silverplated wares sold through Sears Roebuck beginning in 1914, the mark remained in use for years after that. Sadly this set has no real big value, silverplate has flooded the market in recent years, whole boxed sets of services for 8-10 often sell for under $200.00.
Hello Dear Lovejoy. I have submitted an appraisal with the title "old beautiful candy or ..." several weeks ago but no comment received. Last week I cleaned the claws of the dish and found a small hallmark there and i added its image to the appraisal. Now could you help?
