Late 1800’s Bonnet Trunk

Description

This was purchased for $100 at an antique shop in 1998 with the sign in the bottom (pictured). That’s honestly all I know about it.

The sign says “signed” but I can’t seem to find this signature.

Nice Trunk ... I would date this circa 1895 - 1910 so yes it is an antique !!!

Estimate Value $150 - $350 US depending on market and demand.

The main concern with this trunck (also known as a Dome Top / Steamer / Chest) is that it looks too prestine. It has been restored but by the looks like they did a good job. The concern is in dating it it doesn't have dents, scratches, tears etc as would be for sure on this type of item after this long of period. I would suggest its orgin is central eastern seaboard of US.

Thanks for sharing this cool trunk .. please leave me some feedback (reply) on my valuation .. its appreciated ...

Kindest Regards ..
