Long Description
I found these in a storage locker I won at auction. Do not know much about them other then they are heavy. Base: 20 inches tall (not including fixture)/ 13 inches wide. Total height including fixture is 30 1/2 inches. One of them has slight chip damage on front of female by her hands. Not sure of year made or possible value. If possible I am looking for as much information as I can get including manufacturer year range, who might have made it...etc...There do not appear to be any markings on either piece.Â
For Sale?
No
Re: Victorian Style Table Lamps (pair) With Man & Woman
I would estimate these pieces to be from 1940 - 1950's With electrical appliances a plug can help bring you to the right period.Â
Cordey China Company
Cybis Porcelain Composition French Victorian Style Table lamps. Circa 1940;s - 1950's

Origin : NY then also Trenton NJ 1942
Boleslaw Cybis was born in Lithuania in 1895 - He was recognized around Europe 1920's - 1930's. At the 1939 worlds fair (NY) he had been requested by the US Govenrment to build murals of his work. After the fair in the early 1940's him and his wife moved to New York and got their US Citizenship opening his first factory.
Many items like this had been made in occupied Japan. But this shows no sign of that and usually there had been holes made in the base, Thus my research brought me back to the USÂ and your Cybis Pieces ...
Est Valuation .. $60 - $100 for the pair at current market prices. If you had the bases ... see note below it would help increase the price by $100 for the pair. Â
NOTE !!! it also seems to me that these lamps are missing the bases, This is why there are no marks nor do they look finished on the bottom as the bases would have been added at the end.Â
Thanks for sharing .... Please leave me some feedback on my valuation by replying ... its appreciated.
Kindest Regards ..
