Victorian 10k Seed Pearls Brooch

Description

This is all I was told: 10k Victorian(possibly tested as came from an estate), Seed Pearls, no markings or signing. Brooch is just shy of 1 inch

These is not pearls they are opals. The C catch on the brooch would indicate late 1800's.. But the lack of  hallmark , silver or gold standard ....on this piece provides red flags ...  plating of medals started around 1850's in Germany. If you look near the clasp on the back you will see where the plating has worn off. Another common sign of plating is tarnish as which I notice on the face of the piece. It is highly unusual to have a piece of jewlery even plated not having a hallmark. If the piece was 10 k gp it would state it ...

Due to the redflags I would not be comfortable valuating this piece. The style is late Victorian which would point to the late 1800's as well as the C clasp.
