I bought this set from a family via craigslist 3.5 years ago. They charged me $350, and apparently I was lucky because they got numerous offers for 3-5 times that amount after already promising it to me.

The set is a fairly modern in the Queen Anne style, which has been revived many times since it's origins in the early 1700's. Values for sets like this depend a great deal on the condition of the upholstery and it's pattern/color. What you paid is about the going rate these days for comparable upholstered furniture.
