By phil9871, 8 November, 2013
Description

Is a Barget wood Glass cabinet, for which i cant find any pics of on the net anywhere).Ive found simalier ones, but the center glass piece on those is skinnier and straight up,as this one is inclined as it goes up to the top,

Has the orignal glass, keys(thats work-see pics) is 100% original, just has wood scuff marks on the lower end above the legs, from bouncing into things over the years, and the glass needs to be cleaned.

Has plastic-ish glass holders/support peices on he sides, which i havnt seen that on any cabinet before.

Re: Unknown Barget Glass wide center glass Cabinet

It dates from the 1930's, a great many of these were imported in container loads by antique dealers in the 1980's to mid 90's. We retail comaparable examples in the 400-550 range, but they often go at auction for less than $200.00.

Hi

Read the makers label again and you will see that it actually says "Barget Buil", the trademark name of I Barget Limited, formerly of Garford Street, Poplar, London E14. UK
