Antique Writing Desk?

Description

Hello! Unfortunately I do not have much info on this desk as it was given to me by a friend who owns a storage company. I do know that there is a stamp on the bottom of the desk & all of the drawers saying "1108" and all of the drawers and parts to it are stamped as well. The hinge on the top of the desk that goes up and down looks like brass but I don't really know what to look for. Does anyone know anything about this piece?

I should have cleaned it up before taking pictures but I literally just got it about 10 minutes ago and there's just something about it that's telling me not to redo it or touch it quite yet.

It's a Spinet Desk, so named because they resembled antique spinet pianos. Most like this date from the second quarter of the 20th century (1925-50) and were mass produced items, so feel free to refinish it if you like.
