john fondrisi original

spoke with john fondrisi (jr)

a couple of years ago about this work and he indicated the artist

may be his grandfather or father, I do not recall which.

The work depicts a parade in which six indian braves are being hustled out of the picture by a troupe of nine cavalry buglers and a cymbaleer, closely followed by three bulky cowboys mounted on dark, pale and red horses, and bringing up the rear, the drum majorette leading the rest of the parade. Oddly, only a single hand is raised amongst the large crowd and the sea of hats all at anchor. Vigorous brush strokes, vibrant colors.

minor damage to frame and edge of painting
