Hello, I have a desk that belonged to my great-grandfather that was passed on to me, and I'm selling it for local pickup in San Antonio, TX.
It is a Derby S-curve roll top; the upper lock plate says "Tufts Desk, New York." I found an old ad for Tufts online that has a drawing of the actual model I have.
Condition: it has not been restored.
There is wear on the desk top, pullouts, and drawer fronts.
The rolltop handle bar needs to be reattached to the rolltop (glue and canvas/tambour).
Three of the swing-out hinges are not original.
The bottom piece of the lock is missing.
The side, knee-hole, and Back panels are in good shape.
It comes apart for transport; some of the screws that hold it together are not original.
Various nicks and scratches.
Have original wheels/coasters for bottom.
Can send more pics on request, or come see it if you're in San Antonio or Boerne.

Re: Derby S-Curve Roll Top Desk By Tufts of NYC
The roll top desks were really hot sellers back in the late 1980's and early 90's, but values dropped off big time after the fad for Victoriania died. today at auction many comparables sell in the $500.00- $800.00 range.
