Re: An engraved silver tray

The company that made it is E.G. Webster & Sons. I S stands for International Silver Co. E.G. Webster & Sons was sold to International Silver Co. in 1928. In 1961 the trademark changed to Webster Wilcox.
I’ve not yet found what the numbers mean. I’ll let you know if I find more.
This may be the same one as yours https://www.ebay.com/itm/E-G-Webster-Son-Silver-Plate-Platter-Serving-T…~
I also found this with different mark https://www.ebay.com/itm/E-G-Webster-Silverplate-on-Copper-Dual-Handle-…
And this https://www.ebay.com/itm/E-G-Webster-Silverplate-on-copper-Dual-Handle-…
I don’t know enough to know why the differences in what they are being sold for. Hope this info can help you.

Re: An engraved silver tray

This is a silver plated example, American Sterling silver examples would be marked with the word "Sterling" or the numerical equivalent "925" ( 92.5 % silver) . Values for silver plate is currently weak, a result of the Baby Boom generation downsizing and estate clearances causing a bloated marked for silverware.
