Description

“RENOWNED MASTERPIECES”

GRAMERCY PUBLISHING CO. New York/Paris 1905

A hardcover 406 page collection of reproduced paintings from renowned world artists. Published  in 1905 by Gramercy Publishing  Company New York/Paris. The Book is in poor condition/the cover is peeling & some page edges are frayed, but still in viewing condition. Probably no value like this, but it’s such an interesting book full of beautiful masterpieces.  May be of some value to somebody that’s a collector. Was found in the attic of a an old foreclosed home I was remodeling. The pictures listed are just a sample of the beautiful artwork included in this book. Each picture lists the title of the painting, the artist name with history of his work, the museum  where original painting resides, plus any other interesting facts about the painting. While these are only Reproductions of originals, the book is full of historical artwork from all over the world and the history belonging to each piece.

Re: 1905 Art Book

I have the 1904 version of this book. It belonged to my great grandmother (she was born in Brooklyn in the late 1800s). It also is in poor, but very readable condition and is truly a beautiful book. I have always wanted to have this rebound, but never had time to locate a specialist in this field. Mine, of course, has tremendous sentimental value, but I would like to know its value. Since I have been a professional artist, selling my paintings since I was 13 and my great grandmother died when I was 12, this book is very special to me.
