Gentlemen's Dresser and bed set

By Kegger, 15 April, 2021
Description

We Inherited this set from our great aunt. We believe she purchased it in the 1940's but it may not have been new then. The mirror on the dresser appears older. We have been told it's teak wood but I am unconvinced that is correct. The bed headboard is 72" tall and it's a double size (54"). Complete with footboard and rails. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Re: Gentlemen's Dresser and bed set

This suite is in the American Eastlake style, named after Charles Locke Eastlake, an English designer whose design book was highly influential from the 1870's to 1900. Most pieces like this were made of oak, elm or ash. and date from the late 19th Century (1890's).
