Description
My dad was in the service during WW2 and I came across this cigarette case he used. It has Japan engraved on the front, I think it is Mount Fuji, got a temple I think and maybe a shrine, flowers , something down at the bottom right corner. The inside has like circles going all through it plus on each side bands to hold the cigarettes in. Just plain on the back with scratches, the whole case has scratches on it. I think it is sterling silver. It is all engraved.( At the bottom of my picture is just reflection from my phone showing in it.)
Re: WW2 CIGARETTE CASE
If it's sterling silver it will have marks to indicate the silver content, unmarked examples are generally silver plated. Most like this were made for the tourist/export market from the early 1920's through the 1950's.
Re: WW2 CIGARETTE CASE
So you are saying it is not worth anything then, there is nothing wrote on it.
