Nichols and Stone Co Chair

By mab16x, 12 June, 2021
Description

So many months ago I bought this chair for 4 dollars at a consignment shop. Fast forward and I list it on marketplace for 5 dollars because I am getting ready to move. A woman messaged me asking if it had a makers mark. I sent her a picture and she said to take the listing down and do some research about the chair. Please help me because I would love to know about it!! Thank you so much!

Re: Nichols and Stone Co Chair

I’ll keep looking but here’s the first one I’ve found resembling yours https://www.chairish.com/product/2680474/nichols-stone-country-thumb-ba…
This article https://www.vintagefurnitureguide.com/nichols-stone-furniture/ has a pic of a maker’s mark like yours making me think your’s is from the later half of the 20th century so not an antique.

Re: Nichols and Stone Co Chair

Nichols and Stone made good quality reproductions of American Antique Furniture, values for it go up and down depending on market trends, right now at auction comparable chairs are selling on average for under $50.00 each. Values on sites such as Chairish tend to be very over inflated compared to the general used furniture market where most of them retail.
