Description
This is a piece made by Johnson Furniture Co Grand Rapids Michigan. It has a Lord & Taylor of New York plate along with the numbers 8340 . The Johnson Furniture label is made from some type of metal and was in use from 1951 until sometime in the late 50's early 60's. The bench is about 40 inches in length, about 14 inches in width and about 16 inches high at the seat and 24 inches high at the extensions. If anyone can provide any other information I would deeply appreciate it.
Re: Bedroom Bench
The metal tag looks like the one from 1927 or 1951 not exactly like either http://www.furniturecityhistory.org/company/3645/johnson-furniture-co

This bedroom set on Instappraisal has a smaller bench by the same company and I believe same time period https://instappraisal.com/appraisal/bedroom-set-22
Re: Bedroom Bench
Thank you for the information. This gives me a place to start digging!
Re: Bedroom Bench
Nice piece in the Colonial Revival Style, a style meant to resemble pieces made in Britain and Colonial America prior to 1780. You did well to get the piece for $60.00, it's by a high quality maker, we'd retail one for about $175.00.
