Description
I have 1 rooster and 2 hens. 1 hen I found this paper on the bottom, the pink one has no info.what I really want to ask about is the rooster, has no info and is made different than the hens. It is heavier and from underneath it almost looks like it's made out of something more like mortar or cement with course sand mixture. I was hoping someone can tell me more about it and a ballpark value of them,, that is, if it even applies here. The first 3 pics are of the white rooster in question,, the next 2 is the one I fount the paper under,, and the last ones are the pink hens I would also like to know about.. Thanks everyone, have a great day, goodbye.
Re: Ceramic roosters and hens
Here’s some at retail price https://www.intradaitaly.com/category/roosters/ and here’s some that sold on eBay https://www.ebay.com/sch/27/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=intrada+rooster&LH_So…
I’ve not yet seen any with that thick inner layer.
Re: Ceramic roosters and hens
These tend to be Reproductions, Italian or Spanish imports of a type called "Majolica", a type of tin glazed earthenware that was enormously popular during the Victorian era and revived again in the 1980's. Values have dropped drastically since the 90's and comparable pieces are still in production.
