Description
I was gifted this bible this week. I thought I would look up the history. I found quite a bit of information about the British Foreign Bible Society. The information was available for the bibles that listed " Printers to the Queen's most Excellent Majesty" but nothing for the King's most Excellent Majesty. All that is listed on the first page is the date of 1804 which was the date for when the "British Foreign Bible Society" was established. The book is in excellent condition. All pages are intact, the gold print on the edge of the pages are vibrant as well as the words, Holy Bible, on the front of the bible. The cover is leather with tooled designs on the spine. Any information would be appreciated.
Re: BRITISH FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY "PRINTERS TO THE KING'S...
The British and Foreign Bible Society dates back to 1804. Here’s a Wikipedia link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_and_Foreign_Bible_Society#
I did find two that are similar on Worthpoint https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-1804-holy-bible-eyre-178… but not much info there.
Also found this one from 1836 http://www.castlehouseantiques.com/B930k-Holy-Bible-Blind-Tooled.html
I have no idea about value. Since yours only has the 1804 date it makes me think it was one of the very early ones printed by The British and Foreign Bible Society.

Hi, Thank you for the links, I appreciate your help with the information. It's amazing how well this book has held up. I'm researching the name on the maps that are in the back of the bible. I'll update if I find anything more.
Thank you so much for your help!
