SIGNED "RIEMAN" PAINTING OF A PARROT & BUTTERFLY

Profile picture for user AmazingGrace1221

Description

This is a Framed & Signed "Rieman" watercolor painting with a Parrot and a Butterfly.

I received this from a friend and all she could tell me was it was old and a friend of the family had it made & sent from China while they were there to her Mother.

On the back of the painting, you can see that it use to have a paper backing.

I don't know a lot about this painting, but if you need more information, please let me know.

Thank you!!

Re: SIGNED "RIEMAN" PAINTING OF A PARROT & BUTTERFLY

This was likely a commissioned piece for House of Baldwin. It looks like the original backing has been replaced which would have had the sticker and label. Usually these were done in sets of two. D. Rieman is the artist - I suspect D = Dorothy...but I'm not sure. If you're still interested in selling - let me know.

Re: SIGNED "RIEMAN" PAINTING OF A PARROT & BUTTERFLY

Saw a pair of these go for $100.00 at auction, listed as early 1900's Japanese. I doubt this one is still for sale. You can't see the date it was posted on your end, it's from 2013.
