Description
This is a really nice H Krug Desk and I was hoping someone might have an idea of it's age and value. It has a custom fit glass top that has helped to preserve it over the years. The pictures show the front and back, they look very similar, but there are no drawers etc on the back side. It's in very good shape with only minor bruises and cracks here and there and all the drawers and cabinets work smoothly. I don't know what this style is called or what this type of desk would be called. I do know that it was made in Canada. Any info would be appreciated.
Re: H Krug Executive Desk
I just started searching and on Instappraisal I found in the comments someone who might be a potential buyer https://instappraisal.com/appraisal/h-krug-furniture
I’m not finding much. @lovejoy will probably be able to give you some good info.
No desks but other furniture that sold at liveauctioneers can be seen here https://www.liveauctioneers.com/search/?keyword=H.%20Krug%20furniture&p…
P.S. love the desk.
Re: H Krug Executive Desk
Thank you. I did see that early on when I started researching it, but then I couldn't find it again, Thanks!
Re: H Krug Executive Desk
Desksof this type are in what's called the "Jacobean Revival" style. These Revival pieces are reproductions of early English items originally produced during the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods. This style became popular during the first quarter of the 20th century with many large manufacturers producing of pieces of it in suites of dining room and bedroom furniture. Pieces like this have never really been out of production since the 1920's, the company that made it , Krug Bros., operated in Chesley, Ontario,Canada, over a period of 101 years from 1886 to 1987.
