My grandfather owned an import business. This jar is one of a matching pair that has adorned the mantel a fireplace for two generations. It is now part of an inheritance. It depicts a dragon puppet held high by several servants, an indoor home scene of pregnant mother and several children, a cultivated fish pond and an outdoor dragon boating scene.
Overall Circular diameter - 8 inches
Imported by Grandfather over 100 years ago from the orient as part of family owned import business, has been in family ever since, now inherited by third generation
Crossed thatched scratch on bottom, not visible when mounted on stand

We'd to need to see some images of the bottom before we can render an opinion. Pieces like this are still in production, the only way to determine what you have is to see the base of the jar.

APRIL 11 - have added photos (views - bottom of jar and inside lid) Inside lid is inscription CHINA in english, notthin on bottom of jar (except for hair line cross thatched crack) MJ
