By starsky89, 6 August, 2022
Description

I don't know much about this dresser other than it was my roommate's (62) grandparents. It has a tag on the back that I think says "NMichigan. Assume thT is the model number and the other one says "OWOSSO". I know Owosso is near where I live in michigan.

Federal Revival style Desser

Based on your images and the markings, your dresser is in the Federal Revival style which was very popular during the 1920's to early 30's. Federal Revival style pieces are reproductions of the original American Federal period items originally produced from 1780-1820. The Federal Revival style first became popular after the first Centennial of the American Revolution in 1876. At that time interest and demand for original Colonial & Federal furnishings was so great it outstripped supply. This caused large manufacturers to begin production of pieces in the Federal style in the Hepplewhite, Sheraton and Duncan Phyfe styles. Unless in perfect condition comparable dressers like this often sell for less than $200.00

I actually just completely…

I actually just completely restored it myself. Someone had completely painted it with thick white paint. It was my first time ever trying to restore anything. I really appreciate your response it's nice to know. Thank you
