Description
This has been in my family since my great grandfather bought it new many years ago. My grandfather and great grandfather used it pulling trees in Bakersfeild Ca until they relocated to Salem, Oregon in the early 50's. It was handed down to my mother then to me. I have heald onto it for 15 years. It's time for someone to enjoy it. I would like to find out what the real value is to be able to list it for sale. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The puller is located at my home in Salem, Oregon. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in purchasing it and what you would pay for it. Thank you for viewing my puller.
Re: K Hand Power Stump Puller
There's not a big group of collectors for things like this, most end up in small museums run by Rural Historical Societies or were sold for scrap metal during World Wars One and Two. I can't remeber the last time I saw one go at auction, but I doubt it would go for over $100.00.
Re: K Hand Power Stump Puller
This gives me somewhere to start. Thank you very much. Mike.
Re: K Hand Power Stump Puller
There was a very similar stump puller that sold at aumann auctions for $966 in 2017.
Model "K" legacy tree puller
Having used heavy grubber-style pullers for forty years including last year (2021) to pull a ten thousand pound abandoned sailboat hull across one thousand feet of mud-sand lake-bottom, I have been on the lookout for one of these for some time.
Two weeks ago while pulling a van out of a mud hole in a field here, the winch cable snapped and tension ripped the frame and handle into my tibia (shin bone) leaving me with a compound fracture.that pulverized the bone and left me creating a splint with shoelaces; rolled up cardboard; and my own shirt as the bandage and restrictor to compress.the wound to stop from bleeding out.
As it is, I made it to hospital and now face a two month recuperation at home.
Which is why I write.
If you still have your Fitzpatrick "K" tree puller of the style used to pull trees from their roots from the ground at New York City's Central Park, I would very much like to buy it.
My promise:
To fully restore it for use. And to put it to good use.
