Oak Cabinet

Profile picture for user KatieDidIt
By KatieDidIt, 11 January, 2023
Description

Oak cabinet with 3 drawers and 2 cabinets.  There are working locks on the drawers and I have a key.  There are old wood wheels on the legs. I have 3 of the original drawer pulls and 2 original knobs. I would try to locate a match for the pulls and use the original hardware, but not unless the value of the piece is worth it.

These "Golden Oak" pieces…

These "Golden Oak" pieces date from the late 19th century through the 1920's and can be found in Mail Order catalogs such as Sears Roebucks and Montgomery Ward during the late 1890's. Values for such pieces tanked after the 1990's. The odds of finding matching hardware is very slim, but you might be able to find period appropriate hardware at flea markets or auctions. In terms of values, pieces like this often sell for under $100.00 at auction.
