Jenny Lind was a famous Swedish Opera singer who toured America with P.T. Barnum, owner of the well known Circus. It is said she loved the design of these Spool turned beds and they became forever associated with her. The original spool beds date from the second to third quarter of the 19th century, the Revival types are reproductions and tend to date 1900-1930, the style revived again in the 1980's . Values for all of them are currently modest, comparable beds selling for under $200.00 at auction.
