Harmony House "Silver Melody" China

By Daxxee, 15 April, 2015
Description

My grandmother is looking for info about this china. She has 50 pieces. How many is normally in a set andwhat does it consist of?

We have:8 DInner plates7 Saucers8 Salad Bowls8 Bread Plates2 Platters12 cups1 Creamer CupSalt and Pepper Shaker1 Gravy Bowl1 Side Dish1 Sugar Bowl

How much would this go for? How much less is it worth if some of the pieces are chipped? (Included in pics)

Would it be more profitable to sell these separate?

Thank you

Dinnerware

Typically a dinnerware set consists of place settings for eight including five items -- one dinner plate, one salad plate, one bread and butter plate, and a cup and saucer. A hostess set includes a platter, a vegetable bowl, a sugar bowl and a cream pitcher. Ancillary items like fruit bowls, cereal bowls, soup bowls, gravy boats, salt and pepper shakers are nice to have to complete the set.

Best to sell as place settings. Group the bowls together as a set and group the serving pieces together as a set. Sell any extra pieces individually if you can't complete a place setting because of chips.

Unfortunately, there is not much value in this set, THOUGH, it is a very nice mid century modern pattern so I'm sure there is a market for it. You could include the broken and chipped pieces as a "gift with purchase" as a surprise to a buyer.

I'm thinking around $20.00 per place setting in a Facebook/Etsy type sale, though in an estate auction with the right people (MCM fans) bidding, you could get more. Good luck with your sale!!!
