I am curious regarding the age and having grown up and now back on the NC coast, I appreciate the furniture that was created in and near High Point, NC. I can remember many pieces of high-quality that my mother and grandmother owned and I believe that's why I'm drawn to antiques and MCM pieces. I'm a newbie to this forum and I'm excited to find out more about this cabinet.
Drexel china cabinet
Your Drexel Federal style "New Hampton Court" china cabinet was originally in a mahogany finish. Circa 1950s. You definitely didn't over pay for it. $250 is a bargain as someone spent some time and effort painting it so nicely. Very smart looking! Enjoy it!
THANK YOU SILENT GAL FOR THE INFO...
Thank you so much Silentgal for taking the time to provide me with the information on the piece and clarifying that it is a china cabinet! I was unsure whether it was a curio or a china cabinet. I'm happy to know its age as well, I'm also from the 50s (1959:) I look forward to learning more through this forum. I'll take an antique piece over a flashy new one every time!

You're welcome, SharonByTheNCSea
Certainly my pleasure, ma'am! I'm of the same vintage myself (1958). I also live in NC, too so I remember when the furniture industry was a big part of NC's economy. I have a friend that is an interior designer and he drags me along in High Point for market week. (Though I'm more inclined to like antiques and vintage furniture myself.) I mostly help if he has a client that likes the French styles (all of the Louis, Empire, Directoire, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, etc.) He hates it all so I talk him off the ledge, lol.
