Description
These were purchased back in the early 2000's from an estate sale in Alberta, CD. Prior to purchasing these the seller stated that they had been in his family for as long as he could remember.
I am wanting to know the value and if they are prints or originals. The backs are sealed. I have come across similar works of the Brave, however nothing identical and no findings on the mother and child. Both are signed. No numbers that I can see. Difficult to get a good picture do the protective coverings, not glass, and have no sheen. Both measure 24 x30 ".

Bio: Native American Indian portrait artist, Born in Denmark, she emigrated to Canada with her family. In her teens, as a creative young artist, she originated interpretations of the papoose. She was already an acclaimed and professional artist when she came to New Mexico as a young woman and immersed herself in the history of the Southwest Indians. She devoted subsequent years to portraying both the pathos and pride of those people.

Artwork generally requires a physical examination to determine what you are dealing with. Limited edition prints as a general rule will be marked with an edition number to indicate the size of the print run and the number of the individual print in that run. eg. "126/500"
Pictures
There is certainly nothing wrong with removing the pictures from their frames. It won't effect value, just be careful. Once removed, you'll be able to tell if they are prints or original artworks. I'm curious as to what you find. They look like pastel, but without seeing them in person it's impossible to tell.
