A. Franke Painting

By lindafrank, 17 September, 2010
Description

My girlfriend bought this painting in German in 1986.  Recently she took the painting to a local appraiser and he told her it was worthless.  I found your website and saw other original oil paintings by A. Franke which seemed to have value.  I was wondering if someone could tell me the value and also any information you might have regarding this picture.  Thank you very much!

Re: A. Franke Painting

I have a very similar painting but mine has trees next to the fence and the trees break up the mountain in the background. The signature is in burnt orange it looks like. I would love to know where this painting was made at.

I don't want to sell mine but I would love to know more about it. I got it at a second hand store and it was only $30 to purchase.

Re: A. Franke Painting

I have the same or very similar painting my parents have had since living in Germany around 1986 they paid 2550 Deutschmarks for it and I have been given it with the original bill of sale and certificate of authenticity and wondered what it's worth now. I have no intention of selling it as it was handed to me and I intent to hand it down to my kids when they are of age to appreciate it.
