Curious expanding table

By grandpaJ, 13 July, 2024
Description

Just picked up this handmade piece. Wondering if there is a specific name and a market for this type of old wooden table? If so what would be its retail price range?

Thank you

George IV style dining table

Your drop leaf George IV style dining table may bring $150 at auction. Probably mid-20th century. It's hard to tell by the photos it may be made from cherry. You are missing quite a few leaves to that table, probably 3 or 4 of them. If you could find them auction price would be higher.

Tables like these are…

Tables like these are generally Victorian, mainly walnut and butternut construction. Values for them, especially with all their leaves peaked the late 1980's to early 90's, crashing along with the trend for Victorian decorating in the late 1990's. At auction these days, as Silentgirl suggests, $ 150.00
