The genuine mahogany…
The genuine mahogany stickers were used up to about 1969 by manufacturers who use the sticker to guarantee that they used genuine mahogany in the construction of the piece. Quite often, it would be a mixture of mahogany and mahogany veneers. Pieces like this tend to date from around the 1950s and we're made by a large number of manufacturers. If there is a number on the genuine mahogany tag, the number will indicate the manufacturer, but as far as there's no known record for that. As pieces like this were made in huge numbers values are still modest in a market currently flooded with similar pieces, most now sell for about $150.00 at auction.

I see several of these a month at auction as part of whole dining suites including the table, chairs, buffet that sell for under 500.00. If they offer to buy it for 1500.00 for this one piece I'd grab the money and run. :)
