Literary reference to stone
This is so cool! If it's legit, this unusual stone would be of interest to a niche market of collectors of obscure esoteric philosophy and literature. It was mentioned in the book, "the secret teachings of all ages" by Manly P Hall, which I was just reading, which led me to google the Oberammergau stone out of curiosity, and to find both a new york times reference from 1903, and this listing. Im quite intrigued. Id buy it but I suspect you might find people willing to offer more than I could pay. Have you contacted the Philosophical Research society in Los Angeles? Someone there might be interested.
Direct quote from the aforementioned book, "The Oberammergau stone, chipped by Nature into a close resemblance to the popular conception of the face of Christ, is so remarkable that even the crowned heads of Europe requested the privilege of beholding it."
Also, it says this is for…
Also, it says this is for sale? Where are you selling it?
Hi,That means it’s listed…
Hi,
That means it’s listed as for sale as listed on InstAppraisal. If you’re interested the best way is to contact the original poster directly or as you’ve done, ask where they have it for sale if it is up somewhere else. To contact them on the site simply click on their username and then you’ll see a tab with “Contact” in it where you can contact them directly. Hope that helps.
