Watch Labeled Rolex Oyster Perpetual

📌 Summary

You have a gold-colored watch labeled Rolex Oyster Perpetual, with markings on the front reading:

  • “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified”
  • “Swiss Made”

The back is engraved:

  • "Winner Rolex 24 Daytona 1992"
  • With a decorative logo and an “L”

You mentioned:

  • It is lightweight and likely not solid gold
  • There is no serial or model number found
  • It runs on a battery
  • You purchased it for $35
  • It is in excellent condition, still with plastic on the band

🔍 Authenticity Assessment

❌ Strong Indicators This Is NOT a Genuine Rolex:

Feature

Analysis

Battery-operated movement

Real Rolex Oyster Perpetual watches use automatic movements, not quartz battery-powered.

Engraved case back

Most Rolex models have a smooth, unengraved stainless steel back. The “Winner Rolex 24 Daytona 1992” caseback is typical of replicas.

No serial/model numbers

Genuine Rolex watches have a model number between the lugs at 12 o’clock and a serial number at 6 o’clock (under the bracelet). The absence is a red flag.

Plastic wrap still on bracelet

Rolex watches are usually sold without plastic on the band, especially not low-grade plastic wraps. This is typical of aftermarket fakes.

Price

$35 is far below even the cost of a damaged Rolex. Real Rolex watches start at several thousand dollars.

🏷️ About the “Winner Rolex 24 Daytona 1992” Watches

  • These watches were not official Rolex releases.
  • Often created as novelty or commemorative replicas, typically sold or gifted as souvenirs.
  • Common in online marketplaces as replicas or homage watches, often with quartz movements.
  • Not considered collectible by Rolex or reputable auction houses.

đź’° Current Market Value (As-Is, Non-Genuine)

Type

Estimate

Replica Rolex Daytona commemorative watch

$20 – $75 USD (based on condition and novelty)

These are not considered investment-grade and hold only decorative or novelty value.

âś… Recommendations

🔎 1. Confirm with a Professional Appraiser or Jeweler

To be 100% certain, take the watch to:

  • A certified watchmaker
  • A Rolex-authorized service center
  • Or an appraiser with horology experience

They can:

  • Open the caseback to check the movement
  • Examine serial/model engraving
  • Test metal content

🛡️ 2. If You're Curious About Material

Ask for a metal test to determine if it's gold-plated or brass.

📌 Final Verdict

Your watch is almost certainly a replica or novelty piece modeled after a Rolex design — specifically a commemorative "Winner Rolex 24 Daytona 1992" style. It is not a genuine Rolex, and its value is purely decorative or nostalgic.
