Description
composition seated figure of hotai dating from the mid-20th c. is the most solid information we have. He has a dragon on his robes in the back. A few different kinds of flowers carved on him. A what appears to be a marble base. We are not sure what the top of him is made from. The is writing on the underside of his base but we do not know what it says.

History
The story goes that a chinese servant spirited this out of the household she was working in to keep it safe. She came to the US and ended up in a brothel run by my mother in law's step mother. This servant turned spy for the US government and didn't want it to get lost or stolen so she gave it to the relative for safe keeping. The servant was murdered before she could return it and it was passed down through the generations.
