I bought this antiques silverware set at an estate auction a few years ago in CT for about $100. Each fork and knife is finely engraved along one side of each blade. The handles, I assume, are either bone (whale) or ivory. In my limited searches I was able to deduce that the "BB" trademark was used by Brazillai Benjamin between 1799-1835. I make the assumption about whale bone as Brazillai Benjamin worked in New Haven which was a whaling port at the time. Other than that, I have no idea. The case is made of an unknown wood with subtle wood accents and an inlayed copper plate (to be engraved) which is blank. The inside of the box is decorated with red silk.
