Description

I believe this is a 'Caboose stove'. I bought it years ago and have had it decoratively in my kitchen, although

it could be used as there are no cracks to the eye. The front of the stove reads, 'OAKLAND FDY CO

BELLEVILLE, ILL'. On the top right, is the #35. On the top left is 'N', with a small 'o' aside the top of the 'N'.

On the inside of the door to take out the ashes, it reads, 'KING OAK N (small 'o' aside the top of the 'N' and a '5' underneath the 'N') 215.

The stove is in perfect condition. I have sprayed it to keep a nice black look.  It's 21" h x 20" w x 18" d.

Stoves like this saw varied uses, another was for heating multiple Sad Irons for ironing the laundry. There is no huge market for them today as they were designed to burn coal. They often go at auction for under $200.00.
