What I know; the chair was purchases in Oklahoma City, in an antique shop, in the 1940s. Its condition is what I would deem "fair". It is clear that the chair was worked on by people who did not know anything about restoration. There are nails [small] in places that are not noticeable unless the chair is inspected thoroughly. I have no knowledge of the "wingnuts" on the bottom of the chair. The finish needs to be restored on parts of the chair but overall the finish is good condition. The research I have done has me concluding that the design of the backrest was determined by the wood carver. I have seen numerous chairs of the same design but I have not seen a carving similar to this one.
All information will be appreciated, I tried to detail the chair with the best images I could take.
Thank you for your assistance.
