My mother was an Mongolian Samuri and hand made these dolls around 1944-1946. She passed away in 1985 but as you can tell she was very artistic as a young girl. She brought these over from Japan after she married my father around 1958. Since her passing I've had them instorage but it's time for them to find a proper place where history can be preserved. My mothers name was Yukiko Nakayama. She stated she made them in what we called young jr. high school. Im going to assume about 13 or 14. Her family is/was very prominent as she told. This is only a part of her artistic abilities. She was an excellent seamstress as well known all over in this town with job offers from New York to California. She not only hand made these dolls, she hand made the cases they are in.
