Louis XV or XVI Antique Bedroom Suite

Profile picture for user steodorski

Description

Beautiful 7 piece Louis XV or XVI bedroom suite with intricate carving and inlay.  Set includes two twin beds (headboards, footboards, and rails), chest of drawers, boudoir, large mirror, boudoir swivel seat, and night stand.  The set of furniture was purchased by my grandfather sometime in the late 1950's in Canton, Ohio from a private party.  His recollection is that the set was pretty old when he purchased it.  The inlay and carvings matches and is consistent on all of the pieces.  Legs on the pieces have original metal casters.  There are stamped numbers on the pieces - one of which is "660."

Re: Louis XV or XVI Antique Bedroom Suite

Based on your images this set probably dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. The Louis XV style has had several revivals in popularity since its original inception in the 18th Century, popping up about every 30 years or so. We see nice sets like this one from the 1920's -30's now going at auction in the $1200.00- $1800.00 range.

Thanks for the comment.  Was hoping the value was a bit more.  No plans to sell at this time but do want to get a true value.
