Old Oak Sideboard

I'm trying to determine how old this is and what the style or design is called. My dad bought it as an antique when he was stationed in Tacoma Washington during WWII. He always referred to it as his antique sideboard even in 1958 when I was a kid.

Inside the drawers and bottom cabinets it's till very dark stained oak. My dad said the whole thing was finished that way when he bought it, but he refinished the exterior with what was popular at the time he bought it, sandblasting off the finish and refinishing it with white lead stain.

No distinguishing marks that I can find. It has a lock that opened with a skeleton key on the top 2 drawers, and it has some scribbles on the back that say "Eng Oak", and some others that I can't make out (see photo of back). The top two drawers lock. There is a skeleton key somewhere in the house that locks the drawers.

Dad bought it as an antique in the mid 1940's. I don't know how old it was then. That's what I'm trying to determine, is what period it's from and what the style was called.

History
Dad bought this in the mid 1940's in Tacoma Washington. It was all finished with the dark stain that is visible inside the cabinets in the photos. Dad had the stain (on outside surfaces only) sandblasted and then stained it with white lead stain, which he said was popular then (before they knew that lead was toxic) which is how it remains.
