Calvary saber from Franco Prussian War 1870.  Enscribed on side "Dieu avec toi aet ton meilleur ami" . Translation "May God be with you and your best friend.

Phtograph (1850-1870) of Officer and saber from family photo album.

Photograph and sword are part of a family heirloom passed down from family in France.

Dimensions: length 42"; width of blade 1", width of handle 4"
