My great aunts were big collectors. Especially German, French, and Italian items. We always called this the "Ugly Clock". But now, I'm wondering it it is Jacob Petit? I assume there is supposed to be a back plate covering the bell? I don't know if it is supposed to have a glass cover over the clock but there is nothing there now. There appears to be cracks around the winding areas of the clock face. No other visible chips or cracks. I haven't tried to wind it. It is approximately 12 3/4" tall, 8 1/4" at base, and about 4 1/4" deep at the base.
