Wood Silver Chest

Description

I bought this heavy beautuful silverware chest. The lady told me it was old. Said it was her grandmothers. She was in her 60's. 

The only mark is inside on a corner ribbon. Marked- Will H. Beck Company Diamond Merchants and Jewelers. Sioux City.  It is so heavy. 21x15.5x9.75 deminisions. It has a lock and came with a key.

Hard to tell from the images…

Hard to tell from the images, but this chest is most likely made of mahogany or walnut. It's typical with those made at the turn of the 19th Century through World War One and sold by Jewellery Retailers. Comparables tend to sell at auction in the $150.00- $300.00 range.
